Do not fear
Fear comes in two different forms from two completely juxtaposing sources. We have the fear of God and the fear that comes from the devil. The fear of God is led by the love and respect we have for him. This love allows us to be able to fall under his submission, guidance and we understand that even though God loves us there will be consequence for intentional disobedience. However the fear we will be studying today comes from the devil. This fear is most definitely not of God because it is not out of love. The fear the devil feeds into us is the kind that causes confusion, uncertainty, shame and torments our spirit day in day out. God has made it clear so many times, we should not fear.
Joshua 1:9
“This is my command, be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go”.
Joshua was about lead a nation to war, imagine the fear and doubt that the devil must have put in his mind. But God reassured him that there was no reason to fear. When God is on your side, no plan of the enemy can come to pass. Just like God guided a path for Joshua, he will create one for you also. There will be obstacles and trials but we should not fear because the Lord God is with us wherever we set foot. So start that business, apply for that job, start that ministry (If instructed time) or spread that word.
Don’t let fear barricade you to a corner, that’s what the devil wants. He knows when he puts fear in us we remain stagnant.
So today rise up in the Lord and DO NOT FEAR. Shake and rebuke the devil because God has given us authority to do so once we became saved.
Psalm 34:4 says “I sought the Lord, and he answered me, he delivered me from all my fears”. We are not prone to negative emotions, one of them being fear. However this verse confirms that when we feel helpless we should seek God’s face and dwell in his presence. We should cry onto him and he will help and deliver us. We shouldn’t feed into the lies of the devil rather feed on God truth, love and grace.
We are surrounded by chaos and destruction but I encourage you today not to fear and to hold onto God’s words of reassurance with the last breathe you’ve got. He will never give up on us. Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord. ( Psalm 31:24)
Jesus never comes late or early but he comes right on time. So once again Do Not Fear. It’s easy said than done but with Jesus anything is possible.
